If you’ve taken JEE Main and you’re looking at engineering options, GGSIPU is definitely worth considering. The university has colleges offering Computer Science, IT, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, and other branches.

Here’s how it works: your JEE Main rank is your ticket. Once results are out (usually around June), the counselling process begins. You’ll register online, choose your preferred colleges and branches, and hope your rank is good enough to land you a seat.

BBA Through IPU CET &CUET

Want to get into management? GGSIPU conducts its own entrance exam called IPU CET for BBA admissions. For 2026, the exam is scheduled for May 4th, and applications are already open.

The BBA program is three years, and it’s designed to give you everything you need to either jump into the corporate world or continue with an MBA later. The affiliated colleges are pretty good, with modern facilities and faculty who actually know their stuff.

Fun fact: GGSIPU’s BBA programs have produced some really successful business professionals over the years. It’s not IIM, but it’s a solid foundation that won’t break the bank.

Law Programs (BA LLB, BBA LLB)

Thinking about a legal career? GGSIPU accepts CLAT scores & CUET for its integrated law programs. You can do BA LLB or BBA LLB—both are five-year programs that give you an undergraduate degree plus your law degree.

The application form came out on February 23, 2025, and you’ve got until April 30th to apply. After that, counselling starts in May for qualified students.

Here’s what we love about GGSIPU’s law programs: they’re comprehensive, the affiliated colleges are decent, and honestly, they’re more affordable than many private law universities while still maintaining good standards.

B.Com for Commerce Students

If numbers, accounts, and business are your thing, BCom (Hons) at GGSIPU is a great option. It prepares you for careers in accounting, finance, taxation, or business management.

Admissions are based on IPU CET & CUET scores. The program combines theory with practical knowledge, which is exactly what you need when you’re starting in the commerce field.

Let’s Break Down the Admission Process (Without the Jargon)

First: The Entrance Exam Part

Different programs need different exams:

• BTech? You need JEE Mains & CUET scores
• BBA? Take the IPU CET & CUET
• Law? CLAT is your exam & CUET
• B.Com? IPU CET & CUET

Oh, and you need at least 50-55% in your 12th boards from a recognised board. That’s pretty standard.

Next: Registration Time

Once exam results are out, you’ll register on the GGSIPU admissions portal. It’s all online—you’ll create an account, fill in your details, upload documents (make sure they’re clear scans, please!), and submit.

There are multiple rounds of counselling. So if you don’t get your first choice in Round 1, don’t panic. More opportunities come up in later rounds as students shuffle around.

Finally: Documents and Fees

Got your seat? Awesome! Now you need to visit the college for document verification. Bring originals of everything—certificates, mark sheets, category certificates if applicable, ID proofs, passport photos, the works.

Once documents are verified, you pay your fees and boom—you’re officially admitted.

The Quota System (Yeah, It’s Important)

About 85% of GGSIPU seats go to Delhi students, and 15% to students from other states. Plus there are reservations for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwD categories as per Delhi government norms.

Why does this matter? Because it affects cutoffs and competition. If you’re a Delhi student in the general category, you’re competing differently from an outside-Delhi OBC student. Understanding this helps set realistic expectations.

“Can I apply for BTech AND BBA?”
Yep, if you’ve taken both JEE Main and will take IPU CET or CUET, you can definitely apply to both. Separate applications, though.

“What if I mess up my counselling date?”
There are multiple rounds, so missing one doesn’t end your dreams. But obviously, options get limited in later rounds, so try not to miss any.

“I’m from Rajasthan. Can I still get in?”
Absolutely. 15% seats are for outside-Delhi students. It’s more competitive, but definitely possible.

“Are the hostels any good?”
Depends on the college. Some have great hostels, others are just okay. It’s worth asking current students or checking during college visits.
